Saving on those greatly increased Train Fares
The offpeak travelcard is now £12, and the annual travelcard £2500. So perhaps its time to look again at ways of saving on these prices. I have kicked it off by putting some ideas on http://www.pottersbar.org/trains.htm . Anyone else with ideas??

RE: Saving on those greatly increased Train Fares
I thought the travelcard had gone up...

There are some really good tips on this page. Thanks!!

I'm not very good with trains - but I assume it would be possible to get a London travelcard from a newsagents, then get the 298 bus to Cockfosters and use the tube network from there to get around London??

Also, for 'day-trips', up to 4 adults can buy a Group Travelcard for £24 total - making the tickets £6 each, but you have to stay in your group.
