Cost of Station Car Park
I've noticed commuters parking in my street and I wondered why as it's only really started to happen.

Then I made a point of seeing how much it actually costs to park at the stationVery Happy! (and assumed it went up at the beginning of the year) How the hell do people do it? If travelling into London it costs another 50% of the train fare to park at the station. How on earth do the users of the car park tolerate it?

Do you use the car park? If so, do you feel robbed?

Do you know what a general figure for a daily stay in the car park would be roughly?

That is awful!! The parking in Holloways Lane in Welham Green is bad as well, my mum lives there, and it is no wonder with the price of parking, don't they get enough money from train faresCursing

RE: Cost of Station Car Park
As far as I understand, and I have not checked it recently, the Potters Bar station car park is usually full during term time. If that is the case, bringing down the cost will not stop them parking in the nearest non-CPZ road. In fact it may make it worse. At the moment, many folk are put off trying to park at the station by the cost. They either walk, get a bus, take a bike, or get a lift. If the price was lower, more, especially early travellers, would be attracted to try to use the car park, and once full, those not able to park, would then drive to the nearest non-CPZ road and park, rather than drive home and start their journey again by some other method.

Rightly or wrongly FCC is a private, profit motivated company, and will, where they can, charge what the market will bear, and what offrail (if that exists) will allow. And I call myself a socialist!!

Costs are up again I see (don't know when they increased as I don't park there). £4.80 a day and it's now £2 after 10am!

It's a shame that more people don't know that a NCP issued ticket in this car park isn't legally enforcable

So I could park there everyday without paying and just ignore the ticket?
